Do you want to keep up with the smartest thinking in the quickly-changing field of marketing? Listening to these marketing podcasts will help.

In a recent Forbes article "Are Today's Marketers Tomorrow's CEOs?," Kimberly A. Whitler explains, "As the role of the CMO is becoming more important to the organization, you will start seeing more CMOs make the leap to CEO."

However, nearly every CMO these days has had to learn the new rules of modern marketing on the the job. Most business schools are struggling to keep their curricula abreast of all the changes occuring in marketing.

This has lead scrappy, motivated marketers to roll up their sleeves and take advantage of all the (mostly) free marketing resources available for those who want to evolve their skills and boost their careers.

Those resources include marketing blogs, webinars, ebooks, and podcasts.

Of course, podcasting is a burgeoning content marketing tactic, and the trends for podcasting as a medium are very promising.

A recent podcasting analysis by Edison Research digs in to the numbers and changing audio consumption behavior represented by podcast listening.

And for marketers, listening to podcasts are a great way to marinade in the latest thinking about modern marketing.

That's what I do. I listen to hours of marketing podcasts every week. I can't get enough of them. I particularly enjoy podcasts that interview marketing book authors. Perhaps not surprisingly, that's why I recently launched The Marketing Book Podcast.

Since I'm such a marketing podcast aficionado (or podcastaholic – take your pick) I wanted to share my current list of podcasts that I really enjoy and rarely miss. I have learned so much from listening to these podcasts. And they have inspired me as a marketer.

The Top 10 Marketing Podcasts I Try Not To Miss...

I actually listen to more marketing podcasts than these, but these are the ones currently at the top of my "listen list."

But these are just my favorites. For now. Give them a listen and vote for your favorites in the list below.

And if you’ve got a podcast to add to the list, just add it (using the "Add to List" link). And give an “up” vote to any of the podcasts you listen to and recommend (the podcasters will thank you for it). It’s a continuously-changing list – it changes based on the votes each podcast receives.
